Description

Due to recent events, our Shanghai teachers are no longer able to travel to the UK for the lessons.

However we are extremely pleased to announce that the Showcase will go on and not only will you have the chance to observe our Mastery Specialist delivering a real Shanghai Lesson to a Year 6 Class but also to a Year 3 Class, the chance to pose questions to the team and also a Buffet Lunch will be provided.

Schedule for Wednesday 11 March 2020

9.00 – 9.30 am Registration

9.30am - 10.15am Lessons from Shanghai – hear first-hand from our 2 Primary Mastery Specialists who experienced teaching in China last year.

10.15 – 10.50am Observe a Year 6 Shanghai Teaching For Mastery Lesson delivered by our Primary Mastery Specialist

10.50 – 11.05am Break

11.05 – 11.45pm Observe a Year 3 Shanghai Teaching for Mastery Lesson delivered by our Primary Mastery Specialist

11.45 – 12.30pm Your chance to discuss and pose questions to our team of Teaching for Mastery experts and Shanghai Exchange team.

12.30pm Buffet Lunch provided

Please consider car-sharing as parking is limited.

You may register up to 4 members of teaching staff per school.



NB. As with all our Free or Funded Maths Hub Work Groups and programmes, we are funded by the Department for Education and therefore have to prioritise State Funded schools. If spaces are still available we are able to offer these to Independent schools, however we will need to charge fees and these will be advised separately).

North-East Hants and Surrey (NEHS) Maths Hub is led by St John the Baptist School, Woking and runs a large programme of  Work Groups and events throughout the year with the aim of improving Maths teaching, leadership and professional learning practice to transform Maths education.

The Maths Hubs Network is the collaborative partnership of the 40 Maths Hubs across England, supported and facilitated by the National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM). It is part of the wider development of school-led, system leadership of education in England.
